 Political Forces Influencing Education & The School

What I have learned from this topic is racial unity is one of the factors that contributes to the peace and well-being of one country. This spirit must be nurtured in children as early as in the school level. This effort can be made by giving priority to the History subject and by making the education system a medium to promote racial harmony. With an in-depth understanding of Malaysian history and the importance of racial harmony among the younger generation, the matured and responsible citizens can be produced. Besides that, it is also noted that the national economy can be strengthened with the participation of all races in economic activities. For example, the New Economic Policy, introduced by Tun Abdul Razak in 1970, aims to restructure the socio-economic imbalances that exist in the country. The implementation of this economic policy ensures that the living standards of the community will improve in line with the progress made in national development and that the differences in the race-based economy can be eliminated. Overall, it can be seen that racial unity is one of the important aspects that must be protected in order to maintain the harmony of a multi-racial and multi-religious country such as Malaysia. If we are divided and fight with each other, national harmony will be affected. As a result, it will lead to economic instability, which will affect the country development.
