 Society Expectations and Teacher Professionalism

In this topic, I learned about what the society expects from the teachers. Society has high expectations for members of the professions. In the case of teaching, the primary expectation of society is teachers can occupy a position of trust. That is why, parents, caregivers and the community are giving a large portion of their children lives to teachers and schools. When parents are asked what they want for their children at school, they tend to talk about these three things; they want their children to be happy, safe and well educated at school. One of the challenges that teachers face over time is that every time a social problem arises in society, society tends to leave that problem to schools to solve it. Aside from delivering educational content to the students, the teachers are expected to inculcate the good moral values in the students and growing up the responsible citizens. This is because, from the teachers, the students learn about mannerism and ethics.
